An Encounter with some Variegated Fairy-wrens
I ran into a little family of Variegated Fairy-wrens on Friday morning on the Sandy Creek Walk and managed to capture some nice shots of the dominant male that appears to be almost fully coloured now. He still has a grey streak extending from his crown to nape that makes him appear somewhat distinguished. I think this is quite possibly the same group that I had previously seen some 3-400 metres south of this location. They have not been seen in that location for several days. I plan to try and find the group as often as I can over the nex few weeks to see if I can determine the extent of their territory. It overlaps the territories of several families of Superb Fairy-wrens.
