Winter - Beauty Point Rd Walk
Winter means that I walk later. I think that the little birds are active from about 9am. It must be too cold for them before then. I would love to know where they rest. For all my observation, I very seldom see little birds resting.
There were some Ibis feeding near the garden of one of the houses near the end of the Beauty Point Road block. I assume that they are being fed. They flew off when I approached and one of them flew up into a nearby tree to keep an eye on me.
There are often a couple of Spotted Doves in the dead trees under the high voltage transmission lines. They are pretty little doves and I like them, even if they are not Australian.
On Sunday I noticed that there were a lot of Figbirds around. Seeing that most of them have striped breasts I think that there are a lot of immature birds among them. They are favouring the leafless trees, which makes them easy to see. I noticed them on Redhill St, Victory St and Beauty Point Rd.
