Some Canopy Birds
I walked later than usual today. The Little Pied Cormorant was sunning itself on Sandy Creek this morning. I was a bit lucky to catch it mid-yawn.
Yellow-faced Honeyeaters are common enough around here. I see them chasing one another through the canopy and hear them calling, but getting one in the frame is always a bit special.
Brown Thornbills likewise are fairly common but because they are so small and their calls more like an insect than a bird, they are often overlooked as well. They are delightful to watch, very fast, and usually high up in the canopy. Once again, photographing one is a bit special. I would have liked to have not had the stick in front of the second bird in this photograph.
