Beauty Point - A New Arrival

A walk from the Swing Bridge to Beauty Point between 8 and 10AM revealed fewer birds than I had hoped. However I did find a New Holland Honeyeater near the Highway Bridge. This is a first for me in the area. It has always been a puzzle to me that I have not found them in Cooranbong before. They are a common bird over much of Australia, and even in this area I only have to go out to the coast where they are plentiful. But in Cooranbong until now I have only found the similar White-Cheeked Honeyeater until now. This sighting included probably three birds altogether.

There were quite a few Cormorants around, sitting on dead branches. This Little Black Cormorant was in a group of three. They were very wary of me and as I approached, all three turned their backs to me in preparation for flight

Little Pied Cormorants are also present. They seemed more approachable than the Little Black Cormorants.

One of them did a big yawn while I was photographing it.
