Sandy Creek - morning walk
I walked the Sandy Creek Walk this morning as I was a bit short for time. There were not a lot of birds around, but I did see some Yellow-faced Honeyeaters and Brown Thornbills, and the Currawongs were still noisily proclaiming their presence.
I liked watching the Little Pied Cormorant. It wasfishing when I first saw it but climbed out on a piece of wood to dry off as I approached. They look sleek in the water but once they start drying, they present a rather fluffy look.
There are very few rabbits around now. I think most of them have been killed by the recent virus. This one appeared to be reasonably healthy. There was another rabbit nearby that appeared to be in very poor condition. This is a big difference to the hundreds I would see here last year.
There were a few King Parrots around this morning. Most of them were high in the trees and appeared as silhouettes against the light.
