Panoramas
The last couple of days I have left my long telephoto lens at home and have used my full-frame camera with a 20mm lens and have taken several panoramic photographs. I have had an idea in mind of making a slideshow about the birds I see around Cooranbong and need some environmental shots to provide a background for the show.
The weather has produced a bit of fog lately so I have tried to capture some of the atmosphere such as in this photo:
The problem is that while taking photos of landscapes, I am missing the opportunities to photograph birds. I have about 20kg of cameras, lenses and assorted accessories so each walk I have to compromise and choose only one kind of photograph.
Modern stitching programs are built in to both Lightroom and Photoshop and making panoramic photogaphs is a breeze compared with the dayw when you had to cut and paste your prints. They even do a tolerably good job of stitching hand-held photographs, although for best results a tripod is a very useful tool to have.
