Eastern Yellow Robin |
I did an early morning walk today and forgot to take my camera memory card, so no photos from today. Interesting observations:
- A White-bellied Sea-eagle was sitting in the dead trees near the Pine-tree Corner. It did not stay there long though becasue the Magpies discovered and drove it away.
- There were a pair of Hard-head Ducks on the old sewerage ponds.
- Several Australasian Figbirds (male and female) were in the eucalyptus tree near Cottages 15/17 on college Drive.
- About 40 Straw-necked Ibis were feeding in the paddocks on the south side of College Drive.
I would like to find a way to estimate the number of Bell Miners in the flocks along Dora and Sandy Creeks. My guess is that there are between 10 and 100 birds in each area but it would be a bit of a challenge to gain a more accurate estimate.
