Girls Walk
I walked though Girl's Walk at Avondale today. My main reason for going was to see if the Black Swans were nesting - I could not find them so I will have to go back again at a different time of day. While I was waiting and watching, this Swamp Wallaby came up near by. It was oblivious of my presence for most of the time but eventually I think it heard the camera noide and it hopped into the long grass. I have seen them there before, but usually I have startled them and they have hopped off quickly.
There were quite a few Superb Fairy-wrens around. They were all quite active. I tried to find the Variegated Fairy-wrens by using call-back in several of the spots where I have seen them previously but I did not see any sign of them.
The Brown Gerygones were very active today.
They were mainly in the Paper-bark area. They responded well to call-back. I only played it for about 30 seconds and I was surrounded by them.
